Ted Koppel, host of ABC’s Nightline program for many years said this:
“We have actually convinced ourselves that slogans will save us. ‘Shoot up if you must; but use a clean needle.’ ‘Enjoy sex whenever with whomever you wish; but [protect yourself].’
“No. The answer is no. Not no because it isn’t cool or smart or because you might end up in jail or dying in an AIDS ward—but no, because it’s wrong. . . .
“What Moses brought down from Mt. Sinai were not the Ten Suggestions, they are Commandments. Are, not were.”

Very good point Becky, Thank you for sharing. I always joke that blinkers are not an option on cars tha you pay extra for, they are there for a reason, to keep you safe. On a more serious note this holds so true to God's commandments. He gave us these commandments to keep them safe bot to torchure or torment us, or to deprive us as many people see them, but to keep us safe. If people coule see them in that light instead of as a negative thing in there life they would see how wonderful GOd is that he set these rules for everyone to follow so that we can live in harmony with one another and not harm one another or make each other sick (mentally or physically). What a Glorious God! I cannot thank him enough for what he has done and that he forgave me of my sins and continues to forgive me of my sins when I stumble.
ReplyDeletethat's awesome!!! and so true! if we think about how we look to tv, commercials, movies and products for how we should feel, act and live we find ourselves further removed from our Almighty God! Amazing how we can put so much faith in acne cream, cars, where we live and clothes to wear...but the "thing" that gives us true satisfaction is the last thing we turn to.
